This Notice applies to "Consumers" as defined under U.S. Privacy Laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act, the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Connecticut's Act Concerning Personal Data Privacy and Online Monitoring, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, and the Virginia Consumer Data Privacy Act (collectively, "U.S. Privacy Laws").
This Notice applies to information we collect and process subject to U.S. Privacy Laws, including information regarding:
- Our "Services," which include our online services, websites, or applications ("Sites"); loan marketplace and lender-matching tools; co-branded web pages; advertising services; emails or newsletters we sponsor or send; and other content, products and services we make available to consumers, customers, and users (collectively, "Users").
- Individuals who submit a loan inquiry or provide contact information through our Sites.
- Individuals who engage with us in webinars, events, or other activities in which we participate.
- Users and other individuals that communicate or engage with us related to our Services.
Section 2 covers our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. Section 3 describes your rights under U.S. Privacy Laws. Section 4 provides additional notices for California residents. Section 5 explains how to contact us.
Our business consists of operating an online lending marketplace that connects consumers with third-party lenders and financial service providers. We help users compare loan options and connect with lending partners that may meet their financial needs. This Notice describes our privacy practices for our Services and anywhere we display or reference this Privacy Notice.
Aggregate and Non-Identifiable Information
Despite any other provisions in this Notice, we reserve the right to collect, utilize, share, disclose, and process aggregate, anonymous, or de-identified information for purposes such as research, marketing, and analytics. When handling de-identified information, we commit to maintaining and using it in its de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify the information, except as allowed under applicable privacy laws.
Section 2. Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information
Generally, we collect, retain, use, and disclose your personal information in order to provide you with our loan marketplace Services and to operate our business, as described below ("Processing Purposes"). This may include disclosing personal information to our vendors that perform services for us (including "service providers" and "processors" as defined under U.S. Privacy Laws, collectively "Vendors"). Some Processing Purposes may implicate a "sale," "sharing," and/or "targeted advertising" as defined by U.S. Privacy Laws.
Information You Provide Us
When you voluntarily submit a loan inquiry or any form through our Site, we collect certain personal information from you, which may include one or more of the following:
- Your full name
- Your email address and phone number
- Your mailing or residential address
- Your desired loan type and loan amount
- Your stated annual income and employment status
- Your self-reported credit score range
- Your educational background or program (for student loan products)
- Whether you have a co-borrower or co-signer
We refer to this personal information as "Loan Inquiry Information."
Information We Collect Automatically About You
When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including your web browser type, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we collect information about the pages you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and how you interact with the Site. We refer to this as "Device Information."
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- Cookies: Data files placed on your device that often include an anonymous unique identifier. To learn more or to disable cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.
- Log files: Track actions occurring on the Site and collect data including IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- Web beacons, tags, and pixels: Electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site, including third-party tools such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta Pixel.
Marketplace Partner Data Sharing (Juno)
When you complete the funding gap calculator and choose to be matched with a lender, we share the form information you submitted (name, email, school, expected graduation date, calculated gap, and an internal sub_id used for attribution) with our marketplace partner, Juno. Juno then uses that information to surface lender offers tailored to your situation. Juno's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy at joinjuno.com/privacy, which we recommend reviewing before submitting the matching form. The sub_id we send is not personally identifiable; it is used solely to reconcile lead status with Juno's reporting.
Processing Purposes
We collect, use, and disclose your personal information in connection with the following Processing Purposes:
- Account Management (a): We process your registration, verify your information, and manage your account on our Sites.
- Customer Service and Communication (b): We use your information to respond to your inquiries, manage our relationship with you, communicate changes to our policies, and verify your eligibility for certain services.
- Research and Development (c): Your information helps us with beta testing, understanding user interactions, and improving our Sites and Services based on user preferences and feedback.
- Transaction Processing and Service Provision (d): We use your information to process loan inquiries, match you with lending partners, manage accounts, and deliver services or information you have requested.
- Support, Maintenance, and Fulfillment (e): Your information aids us in providing, maintaining, and fulfilling requests related to our Services and Sites.
- Advertising and Marketing (f): We use your information for ad measurement, attribution, and administration to optimize advertising effectiveness and placement. This includes conducting market research and personalizing your experience with relevant content.
- Facilitating Relationships with Lending Partners (g): We share your personal information with third-party lenders and financial service providers ("Lending Partners") to facilitate the provision of financial products that may interest you.
- Engagement with Vendors and Providers (h): We engage vendors, agents, and service providers to facilitate internal operations of our Sites and Services, including data storage and technical support.
- Customizing User Experience (i): We aim to enhance your experience by delivering curated content and marketing tailored to your interests on our Sites.
- Legal Compliance and Security (j): We use your information for identity verification, fraud prevention, and to comply with legal obligations. This includes ensuring the safety and security of our Services.
- Disclosed and Compatible Purposes (k): We may use your information for purposes disclosed at the time of collection or for purposes compatible with the original collection.

We may also disclose each category of personal information listed in the table to the following categories of recipients in ways that do not constitute a sale or sharing:
- To you or other parties at your request or through your deliberate actions.
- To government entities or private parties to comply with applicable laws or legal processes.
- In connection with corporate transactions such as divestitures, mergers, consolidations, or asset sales, where such information will be transferred to the buyer or successor entity.
- To our Vendors and other recipients mentioned above, who may engage subcontractors to perform services on our behalf, subject to contractual restrictions.
Processing Purposes That May Involve Sale, Sharing, or Targeted Advertising
When we process personal information for the purposes listed below, we may use and disclose such information in ways that could be considered selling and/or sharing, or processing for targeted advertising, as defined by U.S. Privacy Laws:
- Facilitating your connection with our Lending Partners
- Targeting advertisements based on your loan inquiry and browsing behavior
- Ad measurement, attribution, and other ad administration
- For purposes disclosed at the time you provide your personal information
Personal Information of Children and Minors
We do not market our services to, and do not intentionally collect personal information from, children under the age of 13. Our loan marketplace is intended for adults who are eligible to enter into financial contracts. If we receive actual knowledge that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly remove the data from our systems. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as permitted by applicable law and as long as we have a legitimate business purpose for retaining it. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data indefinitely. The actual retention period is determined by the length of time necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data was collected, including compliance with our legal obligations, resolution of disputes, and enforcement of our agreements.
Section 3. Consumer Rights Requests
Subject to the requirements for a Verified Consumer Request (defined below), we provide residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Virginia with the privacy rights described in this section. If you do not reside in one of these states, you are not entitled to exercise these rights under this Notice.
Making a Privacy Rights Request
Any request you submit to us is subject to an identity verification process. We will not fulfill your request unless you have provided sufficient information for us to reasonably verify your identity.

Verifying Your Request
When you submit a request, we will take steps to verify your identity. We will cross-check the information you provide against our records. We initially ask that you provide:
- Full name
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Phone number
Depending on the nature of your request, we may require additional information. For less sensitive requests (e.g., categories of information collected), we verify to a reasonable degree of certainty by matching at least two data points. For more sensitive requests (e.g., specific pieces of personal information), we apply a higher standard, matching at least three data points and may require a signed declaration under penalty of perjury.
Authorizing an Agent
You may appoint an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We may require the agent to provide proof of your signed permission and may also require you to independently verify your identity or confirm the agent's authorization.
Response Timing and Format
We will strive to respond to a verified consumer request within forty-five (45) days of receipt. If we require additional time, we will notify you in writing within the initial 45-day period. Disclosures will generally cover the 12-month period preceding receipt of your request unless applicable law requires a longer period.
Your Consumer Privacy Rights
Right to Know / Access. You have the right to request that we disclose to you the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, our business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling that information, the categories of third parties with whom we share personal information, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Right to Delete. You have the right to request the deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. Upon verification, we will permanently delete, de-identify, or aggregate your personal information, and will direct our service providers to do the same, subject to legally permitted exceptions.
Right to Correct. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you, subject to our verification process.
Right to Opt Out of Sales, Sharing, and Targeted Advertising. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of processing your personal information for targeted advertising. Because we share personal information with Lending Partners and use third-party tracking technologies (such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta Pixel), some of this activity may qualify as a sale or sharing under applicable state law.
To opt out of tracking technologies ("Cookie PI"), you may use our consent management platform or adjust your browser's cookie settings. Please note that you must set your preferences on each browser and device you use, and that clearing your cookies may reset your preferences. To opt out of sharing your directly submitted information (e.g., your email or name) with Lending Partners for targeted advertising, please use the contact methods listed above under "Making a Privacy Rights Request."
Your Additional Cookie Options
Third-party digital businesses, including Google and Meta, may use cookies and other tracking technologies on our Site to collect information about your interactions and serve you interest-based advertisements. For more information and to exercise your choices, you may visit:

Use of Personal Information for Profiling
We do not use personal information to engage in "profiling" that leads to "decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects" as defined under U.S. Privacy Laws. Should our practices change, we will update this policy and provide applicable opt-out rights.
Appeal Rights
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia have the right to appeal our decision on a privacy rights request. To appeal, please reply to the response email we send you and follow the instructions provided.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. We will not deny you services, charge different prices, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights.
Notification of Financial Incentives
We may offer programs or opportunities to consumers that require collection and use of personal information, potentially qualifying as "financial incentives" under U.S. Privacy Laws. Examples include:
Email and Text Message Alerts: We offer consumers the option to sign up for marketing-related emails and text message alerts regarding loan offers and promotions. In exchange, we may collect your name, email address, and mobile phone number. Standard text messaging rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in any message or by contacting us at hello@np.financial.
Loan Matching Services: We offer loan inquiry and matching services that may result in financial benefits such as access to competitive loan rates from our Lending Partners. To facilitate these matches, we collect and share your personal information with relevant lenders. You may withdraw from this process at any time by contacting us at hello@np.financial.
Section 4. Additional Notices for California Residents
Although our Services are designed for adults, any California resident under eighteen (18) years of age who has registered to use our Services and posted content on the Sites may request removal of such content by contacting us and identifying the specific content and its location. We will make reasonable, good-faith efforts to remove or anonymize the content as required by applicable law.
We may disclose personal information as defined under California's "Shine the Light" law to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. California residents have the right to opt out of such sharing by contacting us at hello@np.financial with the subject line "Shine the Light Request," along with confirmation that you are a California resident and your current California address.
